Health systems and hospitals can fill essential roles with CareRev’s on-demand, specialized talent

SACRAMENTO, Calif., June 12, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — CareRev, the on-demand workforce platform purpose-built for acute care, today announced that it will now offer allied and ancillary roles within its platform to support health systems and hospitals across the country. Access to CareRev’s on-demand workforce provides hospitals and health systems with the resources needed to ensure quality patient care while optimizing labor costs.

With allied healthcare professionals making up 60% of the nation’s healthcare workforce, escalating shortages across these specialized roles present a critical challenge for health systems. To fill the gaps in the healthcare workforce, CareRev now offers a wide range of allied and ancillary positions, including but not limited to, physical and occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, surgical technologists, and radiology technologists. Through CareRev’s platform, facility staffing managers can easily post available shifts for nursing, allied and ancillary roles. Professionals working through CareRev can then claim shifts through CareRev’s app. CareRev’s technology provides direct access to qualified talent and minimizes administrative burden with a streamlined credentialing and onboarding process.

“Connecting our health system customers with on-demand ancillary and allied professionals is essential to ensure well-rounded care teams amidst ongoing workforce shortages,” said Brandon Atkinson, CEO of CareRev. “The flexibility of an on-demand workforce allows hospitals to meet patient demand without burning out full-time staff or exhausting budgets.”

CareRev customers are already benefiting from the expanded workforce offering. Upholding a patient-centered approach, health systems including FirstHealth of the Carolinas and Froedtert Health are leveraging the ancillary and allied professionals working through CareRev’s platform, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and athletic trainers.
