Check out the companies making headlines before the bell: Moderna — Shares rose 2% after the biotech company’s experimental flu vaccine showed a positive response in a late-stage trial, opening the way for the standalone shot and a combination Covid shot. Hewlett Packard Enterprise , Juniper Networks — Shares rallied 14% and 8%, respectively, after the U.S. Department of Justice, according to court filings, settled its lawsuit challenging server maker Hewlett Packard Enterprise’ $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks. Meta Platforms — Shares gained 2% after Bloomberg and The Information over the weekend reported, citing unnamed sources, that Meta has hired four artificial intelligence researchers from OpenAI to join its new Superintelligence group led by Alexandr Wang. Those hires are Jiahui Yu, Shuchao Bi, Shengjia Zhao and Hongyu Ren, the report said. GMS — Shares of the specialty building products distributor jumped more than 11% after Home Depot announced plans to buy it for about $4.3 billion. The offer tops an unsolicited bid by QXO . Palantir Technologies , Accenture — Shares rose about 5% and 1%, respectively, after Palantir and Accenture said Accenture Federal will be Palantir’s preferred implementation partner to help its U.S. federal government clients use AI to automate operations. Walt Disney — The entertainment stock rose 2% after being upgraded to buy from hold at Jefferies. The investment firm said Disney’s parks business is holding up well and that the cruise revenue could jump in 2026 when two new ships are launched. Tesla — Shares fell about 1% as President Donald Trump’s spending bill cleared a key hurdle over the weekend to move closer to the president’s desk. The development adds pressure to renewables and electric vehicles as the latest changes in the bill would accelerate a phase out of clean energy manufacturing tax credits. — CNBC’s Michelle Fox and Jesse Pound contributed reporting
