City of Albuquerque Lifts Stop Work Order

HOUSTON, July 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Ezee Fiber today announced today that is has resumed construction work in Albuquerque, New Mexico, following the lifting of the stop work order which had been in place since May 9.

Under the terms of the new agreement reached with the city, Ezee Fiber will increase communications to city administrators on resident notifications involving potential damage, questions about construction and related topics.

In addition, the company will increase its oversight over its contractor work force, who perform the directional drilling work to install the next generation high-speed internet infrastructure by agreement with the city.

The company also will serve on a task force led by city officials with other fiber internet companies to identify ways to improve communications to residents and ensure construction efforts occur in alignment with permits and authorizations from city and state officials.

“We are very grateful to have reached this agreement with city officials which allows us to return to work on a project that will take years to complete,” says Carlos Rosas, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Ezee Fiber’s Southwest Region.  “We also want to hear from any resident if they have questions or concerns about construction or restoration work.  Our goal is to open lines of communication to keep everyone informed.”

About one year ago, Ezee Fiber announced its $250 million expansion in New Mexico. Soon after, it also announced the acquisition of Conterra Networks’ fiber optic assets in New Mexico. The company said it has increased investment plans in New Mexico and will spend $300 million in building its high-speed fiber internet network to deliver the best available technology to New Mexicans.
