XT4 and GTX now support Wicket’s leading facial authentication platform to unlock secure, scalable and affordable biometric access for sports and live entertainment venues

BETHPAGE, N.Y., Aug. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Janam Technologies, a leading provider of rugged mobile computers and contactless access solutions, today announced that its new XT4 rugged mobile computer and GTX mobile entry pedestal now support Wicket’s facial authentication platform. With this integration, Janam adds advanced biometric identity verification to its flagship access control solutions, enabling frictionless, secure and privacy-forward entry for ticketed events, VIP area, staff access points and more.

Purpose-built to deliver maximum speed, security and flexibility, XT4 is ideally suited to power facial authentication software in the field – both as a standalone mobile device and when docked in a super cost-effective mobile pedestal like Janam’s GTX. It enables organizations to extend the value of their access technology investments by adding face biometric reading to the single device most of them already use to scan barcodes, QR codes and NFC wallet passes. With no need for wired connections, fixed network installations, new network logins, or complex setup, the Janam-Wicket solution makes it easy for venues to deploy fast, secure and privacy-first facial authentication at scale.

KEY FACTS

  • Wicket’s facial authentication software now runs on Janam’s XT4 and GTX, enabling opt-in, real-time biometric access for ticket holders, staff and pre-registered guests at stadiums, arenas, festivals and secure facilities.
  • Facial authentication complements Janam’s existing credentialing capabilities, including support for Apple Wallet and Google Smart Tap, making XT4 and GTX the most versatile solutions for modern ticketing and venue access.
  • Equipped with a blazing-fast Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ octa-core processor, XT4 delivers the performance required for immediate image processing and AI-powered accuracy, validating guests in less than one second.
  • XT4 and GTX offer a practical, affordable path to facial authentication by leveraging existing Janam infrastructure, reducing total cost of ownership and enabling faster, more flexible deployments than bulky, expensive, fixed hardware systems.
  •  Janam’s GTX mobile entry pedestal, powered by XT4, gives venues a single, handheld-based platform to validate all major credential types — barcodes, QR codes, digital wallet passes and face biometrics — with the flexibility to deploy across permanent or temporary entry points.
  • Wicket is trusted by major league teams and venues globally and is designed with a privacy-first architecture to ensure biometric data is never stored on Janam devices and is handled in accordance with all security and data privacy standards.

SUPPORTING QUOTES
Harry B. Lerner, CEO, Janam Technologies (part of HID)
“Anyone taking a flight these days knows that face biometrics is growing swiftly as a reliable means of access control. We are thrilled that our new XT4 supports Wicket’s robust facial authentication platform for venue access, expanding what our customers can do with a single device and future-proofing them for approaching technology trends. Especially when powering our super-affordable mobile pedestal, XT4 is the most cost-effective and versatile way for venue access customers to rapidly deploy hardware that supports the world’s leading authentication and ticketing platforms.”

Alastair Partington, CEO, Wicket
“At Wicket, we’re committed to making access to live events quicker, safer and seamless. By bringing our facial authentication platform to Janam’s XT4 and GTX, venues can now deliver a truly frictionless, privacy-first entry experience without the burden of costly or complex infrastructure. It’s a practical step forward for stadiums, arenas and festivals looking to serve their guests with greater efficiency and confidence.”
