With Salesforce Acquisition Pending, Informatica Reports Q3 Cloud Sales Growth

‘Our innovation is on steroids and will not slow down,’ Informatica CEO Amit Walia said.

As Informatica’s next phase as a part of Salesforce starts to take shape, the data management vendor showed Wednesday that demand remains high for its products even before the acquisition closes, with revenue growth accelerating in multiple areas compared to the prior quarter.

Informatica CEO Amit Walia (pictured) told CRN in an interview that while it’s still too early to talk about how his company will change once it’s part of San Francisco-based Salesforce, solution providers should still expect “tremendous innovation” from Informatica to meet customer demand for artificial intelligence and digital transformation capabilities.

“Our innovation is on steroids and will not slow down,” Walia said.

Salesforce Buying Informatica

Megan Glasow, Salesforce practice managing director for St. Louis-based Perficient—No. 61 on CRN’s 2025 Solution Provider 500—told CRN in a recent interview that Perficient is interested in growing its capabilities across Salesforce’s recently acquired companies, although it was early in the joint Informatica-Salesforce motion for her to detail where the synergies lie for Perificient.

“Our existing client base, based on the industries that we’re concentrated on, are going to have more of a need for certain acquired technologies than others,” she said. “Our clients are our No. 1 priority. And so that may drive where we make investments, at least in the short term.”

Salesforce completed its acquisition of process intelligence software company Apromore on Monday. This year it also bought AI agent company Convergence, prospecting platform Bluebirds, natural language-to-SQL platform provider Waii and AI-powered business process automation technology provider Regrello.

Salesforce expects to close on the Informatica deal in the fourth quarter of the company’s 2026 fiscal year or early in the first quarter of its 2027 fiscal year. The 2027 fiscal year starts Feb. 1.

Informatica has a partner program that includes CRN 2025 Solution Provider 500 members Capgemini, Cognizant and Wipro. Salesforce has more than 16,000 partners worldwide.

The combined Salesforce and Informatica will present an opportunity for solution providers to “double down on their Informatica capabilities, to drive more AI adoption for their customers and drive value for them,” Walia said. For Salesforce solution providers that don’t have an Informatica practice, they can explore a new source of revenue, the CEO added.

Informatica reported results for the company’s third quarter (ended Sept. 30) on Wednesday. Because of the pending Salesforce acquisition, Informatica didn’t hold a quarterly earnings call for the period. Instead, the Redwood City, Calif.-based vendor put out a statement and did not provide a financial outlook.

Informatica Q3 In Depth

Informatica reported a 29.5 percent year-over-year increase in cloud subscription annual recurring revenue (ARR), with its AI-powered Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) fueling demand. That marks an acceleration over the prior quarter’s 28 percent increase.

Total revenues using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) grew 2.2 percent year over year, ignoring foreign exchange, reaching $439.2 million. That is an acceleration over the prior quarter’s .7 percent growth rate.

Cloud subscription revenue using GAAP increased 31 percent year over year to $230.4 million, representing about 72 percent of subscription revenue, according to Informatica. That’s an acceleration over the prior quarter’s 30.1 percent growth rate.

Total ARR was $1.75 billion, up 3.8 percent year over year, ignoring foreign exchange. That’s an acceleration over the prior quarter’s 2.9 percent growth.

Cloud subscription ARR was $968.6 million, up 29 percent year on year, marking an acceleration from the prior quarter’s 28 percent growth.

Informatica’s GAAP operating income was $60.9 million. The prior quarter, Informatica reported an operating loss of about $100,000.

GAAP operating margin was 13.9 percent. The vendor saw GAAP operating cash flow of $148.7 million.

Informatica processed 143.3 trillion cloud transactions per month during the quarter, up 41 percent year over year. It had 2,545 cloud subscription ARR customers at the end of the quarter, up 6 percent year over year and up 1 percent from last quarter.
