The launch of Prisma Browser for Business is ‘designed to be simple’ and to provide enhanced protection against AI app usage, Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora said during a media briefing.

Palo Alto Networks on Monday announced the debut of an SMB-focused secure browser, the Prisma Browser for Business, in a major move to expand one of its fast-growing offerings to a broader customer segment.

The move is aimed at providing a simplified way for small businesses to protect against browser-based threats—which increasingly include risks related to AI application usage, Palo Alto Networks executives said during a media briefing.

“This is to make sure that if SMB users start using some of these [AI technologies] and are unknowingly causing a security risk, they can be protected by making sure they’re using a secure browser,” Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora (pictured) said during a media briefing.

The announcement Monday came in connection with the start of RSAC 2026 in San Francisco.

What follows are five key features of Palo Alto Networks’ secure SMB browser.

Secure SMB Workspace

Palo Alto Networks is targeting the Prisma Browser for Business as a primary workspace for SMBs to use for secure work and collaboration, according to the company.

The Prisma Browser for Business is particularly focused on providing enhanced protection against AI app usage, Arora said.

“We think that part of the market is most susceptible” to threats and risks related to AI adoption in browsers, he said.

Built‑In Protection

Key capabilities offered by the browser include built-in protection against phishing, ransomware and fraud, Palo Alto Networks said.

Additional data security controls prevent leakage or theft of data, the company said.

Ultimately, “it’ll protect you from all the known threats that are out there” in the web browser, Arora said.

Simplified Approach

The Prisma Browser for Business is “designed to be simple [so] that our customers don’t have to make security decisions,” Arora said.

SMBs can download the browser from Palo Alto Networks, making it a “seamless, easy-to-deploy, easy-to-use” offering for browser security, he said.

The company believes that offering such capabilities to SMBs is “going to be critical to making sure that AI reaches the entire business landscape,” not just for large enterprises, Arora said.

Device Flexibility

At this point, many SMBs are only using applications that are accessed from within the browser, noted Lee Klarich, chief product and technology officer at Palo Alto Networks.

Thus, by providing SMBs with a secure browser, “you now free up this the employee to do their work on any device that is useful,” Klarich said during the media briefing.

“We embed all the security is needed in that while still giving some enterprise controls to layer on top,” he said. “It’s not just a secure browser for business—it’s also actually a new way for these smaller businesses [to] do work.”

Open To All Customers

SMBs will not be required to be existing customers Palo Alto Networks to utilize the Prisma Browser for Business, executives said.

The launch also builds on the rapid growth of the cybersecurity giant’s Prisma Browser, which now has nearly 10 million deployments with customers, according to executives.
