Two Round 3 competitors erased deficits to punch their tickets into the Channel Madness semifinals.
Thursday’s CRN Channel Madness Tournament quarterfinals wrapped up with late rallies from two channel chiefs that carried them out of early holes and into the next round.
With titles up for grabs in the Transformation, Acceleration, Innovation and Evolution regions, here’s a look at which of the Enterprise Eight are moving on to the Field of Four.
In the Transformation region, HP Inc.’s Scott Lannum started slow but engineered a comeback in his matchup with Arctic Wolf’s Bob Skelley. Lannum finished with 65 percent of the vote to Skelley’s 35 percent.
In the Acceleration region, CrowdStrike’s Michael Rogers was also facing a steep climb, having fallen behind Wednesday afternoon in his contest with F5’s Lisa Citron, but Rogers orchestrated some late-game dramatics to pull out a solid win with 70 percent of the vote to Citron’s 30 percent.
In the Innovation region, Lenovo’s Wade McFarland was able to fend off a strong push from Nutanix’s Christian Goffi, with McFarland locking down 53 percent of the vote to Goffi’s 47 percent.
Meanwhile in the Evolution region, Sophos’ Scott Barlow kept his foot on the gas against Veeam Software’s Kevin Rooney, winning with 78 percent of the vote to Rooney’s 22 percent.
That means Lannum and Rogers will square off in Round 4 while McFarland faces Barlow in the other Field of Four matchup.
