- Within the Amazon Quick desktop application, enterprise customers can create presentations, images, dashboards and other applications. AWS said the app runs continuously in the background, monitoring across the ecosystem and surfacing relevant information.
- The desktop app introduces new content creation and connection capabilities, automates browser-based workflows and connects to developer tools including Claude Code and Kiro CLI, AWS said.
Dive Insight:
AWS’s launch of the Amazon Quick desktop app comes as the tech giant bolsters partnerships with the top model providers and leans into a growing movement among vendors toward cross-platform connections.
One day after Microsoft and OpenAI revealed a reworked partnership allowing the AI model provider to pursue new opportunities with other vendors, AWS announced an expanded partnership with OpenAI, making its latest models available in limited preview through Amazon Bedrock.
The deal also made OpenAI’s coding agent, Codex, available on Amazon Bedrock for enterprise software development, enabling OpenAI-powered Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents for building AI agents with OpenAI’s frontier models on AWS.
The expanded partnership builds on AWS’s existing deal with OpenAI to distribute OpenAI Frontier, the AI model provider’s enterprise platform for building AI agents.
AWS has also continued to invest in Anthropic in support of its AI initiatives. In an updated infrastructure deal announced earlier this month, AWS enabled access to Anthropic’s Claude platform, combining AWS’ guardrails with the AI model’s capabilities.
“The biggest reason that AWS continues to gain AI share is our uniquely broad top to bottom AI stack functionality,” Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said during the company’s Q4 2025 earnings call in February. “In AI, we’re doing what we’ve always done in AWS, solving customer challenges.”
Amazon is expected to report Q1 2026 earnings Wednesday after market close.
The company’s new Amazon Quick desktop app also continues a push AWS has been part of to enable cross-cloud and cross-platform interoperability. AWS and Google Cloud linked up last year to launch a multicloud collaboration, with Microsoft joining later in 2026, while Snowflake expanded partnerships with Anthropic and Accenture to scale enterprise AI.
