‘Dali [Rajic] will build the revenue operating system needed to scale for this next phase’, says OpenAI in a statement, unveiling the hiring of Google-owned Wiz’s former president and COO.
OpenAI continues to hire top Google talent as the AI superstar unveiled the hiring of Dali Rajic, the now former president and COO of security startup Wiz, which was acquired by Google for $32 billion this year.
OpenAI said that the market is now ready for new generations of AI models that will change not just how work gets done, but how companies are built and run, which is why it hired 30-year IT veteran Rajic.
“Dali will build the revenue operating system needed to scale for this next phase,” said OpenAI in a blog post. “Dali has deep expertise in running disciplined, metrics-led revenue organizations that scale globally and selling to both large enterprises and technical customers.”
CRN has reached out to Wiz but has not heard back by press time.

At Google-owned Wiz, Rajic helped build the operating discipline and customer-focused execution behind the fast-growing security company over the past several years.
He is now tasked with leading OpenAI’s global revenue organization.
“OpenAI has extraordinary technology, products that more than 1 billion people already love, and enormous market pull,” said Rajic, OpenAI’s new global CRO, in a statement. “I’m excited to join the team, build on the momentum already in place, and lead the revenue organization as we help customers realize the full value of AI.”
OpenAI Co-Founder Greg Brockman Bullish On New Hire
OpenAI co-founder and President Greg Brockman said he’s bullish about hiring one of Google’s top security leaders as its new revenue chief.
“We’re moving into a compute-powered economy, with AI becoming embedded in every workflow,” said Brockman in a statement.
“The way we’re deploying this technology is changing rapidly, and Dali will turn what we’ve learned into repeatable execution as we build out the full system to make AI broadly useful for people and businesses,” Brockman said.
OpenAI Hiring Google Cloud Leaders
One CEO of a longtime Google Cloud channel partner said Rajic was a channel advocate inside Wiz.
“We’ve been thinking about joining the [Wiz Partner Alliance Program] that he helped get off the ground,” said the CEO of the Google Cloud partner, who declined to be identified. “We saw that he did a lot on the partner side of things. … I’m surprised so many Google execs are going to [OpenAI]. It’s going to be interesting what they become in a year or two.”
In 2026, OpenAI hired Google Cloud’s former global head of partner programs, Colleen Kapase, who was instrumental in launching OpenAI’s inaugural OpenAI Partner Network this year.
In addition, OpenAI hired Google Cloud’s former Partner Network managing director, Philip Larson, who is now tasked with leading OpenAI’s newly launched Partner Network.
In June, OpenAI also hired Google Gemini co-leader Noam Shazeer—the former CEO of Character.AI and one of Google’s first few hundred employees.
“We’re not worried about Google finding and replacing its executive bench. They have the ability to do that seamlessly,” said the CEO.
Rajic’s 30-Year IT Career At Zscaler, AppDynamics And More
Prior to Wiz, Rajic served as president and COO of Zscaler from 2019 to 2024.
Before Zscaler, Rajic was AppDynamics’ chief customer and revenue officer.
He currently is an adviser for data platform provider Redis, as well as AI infrastructure software specialist Hyperscience.
Over his 30-plus IT career, Rajic has worked for Dell-EMC, Verint and BMC Software.
He could not be reached for comment by press time.
OpenAI holds a market valuation of $852 billion following a $122 billion funding round in March.
The company is eyeing an initial public offering later this year.
