Optiv-CrowdStrike Partnership Reaches $2 Billion In Sales: ‘The Snowball Continues’

The milestone was achieved in less than half the time it took to reach $1 billion in joint cybersecurity sales—and going forward, ‘we want to see it go faster,’ CrowdStrike’s Daniel Bernard tells CRN exclusively.

Optiv Security has reached $2 billion in joint sales with cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike to date, making the solution provider powerhouse the first partner to achieve the milestone—and setting the stage for massive continued growth ahead, the companies told CRN exclusively.

The $1 billion sales mark had been crossed by CrowdStrike’s partnership with Denver-based Optiv in December 2023. Getting to $2 billion went even more rapidly, according to the companies.

“In less than half the time, that $1 billion has turned into $2 billion,” CrowdStrike Chief Business Officer Daniel Bernard said in an interview. “The snowball continues. We want to see it go faster and faster.”

Bernard pointed to “great execution” by Optiv, No. 29 on CRN’s Solution Provider 500 for 2026, following its decision to focus on CrowdStrike as a key partnership years ago, along with a “strong commitment on both sides.”

Optiv has built one of the largest CrowdStrike businesses in the channel in part through focusing entirely on cybersecurity, which has proven to be a savvy move that has led to Optiv establishing “deep customer access” and national coverage, Bernard noted.

In a statement provided to CRN, Optiv CEO Kevin Lynch said the company has “built an incredible business with CrowdStrike through a shared commitment to helping clients stay ahead of a rapidly changing threat landscape.”

Top priorities for the partnership going forward will continue to be around simplifying security and modernizing operations, ultimately with the goal of enabling customers to “confidently embrace” coming waves of technological change, Lynch said in the statement.

Without a doubt, surpassing $2 billion in joint sales “is a tremendous milestone and a reflection of the trust our clients place in us,” he said.

One major highlight of the partnership has been Optiv’s early engagement with CrowdStrike around the vendor’s Falcon Flex subscription model, executives said. Falcon Flex aims to enable partners to rapidly package up and deploy the dozens of tools CrowdStrike now offers on its platform, while providing improved agility and cost savings for customers.

Falcon Flex helps to address the major concern among CISOs about reducing the complexity associated with security tool sprawl, while also providing much-needed flexibility around procurement, executives said.

All in all, customers will increasingly need partners going forward who are capable of solving new security problems amid the intensifying, AI-driven threat environment, Bernard said.

“You need the right technology for that. You need the right interface with the customer for that. You need the right expertise for that,” he said. “In a way, CrowdStrike is the model, Optiv is the harness.”
