ISELIN, N.J., Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, a prominent New Jersey law firm serving business clients, private clients, and public clients, today announced the launch of its Data Center Development & Infrastructure practice. The new practice area provides legal support to developers, operators, investors, lenders, and other financing parties engaged in the siting, construction, and operation of data centers and related infrastructure.

Uniting capabilities across the firm, the practice team acts as lead counsel or as local New Jersey counsel for national and international law firms and developers. Attorneys blend regulatory depth with transactional expertise to help clients advance their private enterprise, shared colocation, hyperscale, and localized edge data center projects.

The firm advises clients throughout the project lifecycle, including site selection and land use approvals, environmental permitting, energy and utility matters, regulatory matters, real estate structuring, project financing, tax incentives, and community engagement. The team also assists owners and operators with energy procurement, ongoing regulatory requirements, and infrastructure matters that arise once a facility becomes operational.

Barbara J. Koonz, who leads the newly formed practice, said: “Greenbaum’s work in this sector is not a new development, as our attorneys are currently advising clients on major data center projects throughout New Jersey, including developments involving billion-dollar investments. Formalizing this work within a dedicated practice reflects both the changing needs of our clients and the firm’s continued evolution. Our practice team brings together the firm’s deep New Jersey expertise across land use, environmental, energy, real estate, finance, and tax incentives to help move these complex projects forward.”

About Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis

For more than 100 years, Greenbaum has helped shape how New Jersey works, representing businesses, public entities, and individuals with interests in the Garden State and surrounding areas. Known for understanding the “ins and outs” of handling legal challenges in the state, the firm has a network of longstanding business, legal, and government relationships that translates directly into an advantage for its clients. Because many legal challenges do not fit neatly within a single discipline, Greenbaum brings together attorneys across practice areas to provide coordinated advice, allowing clients to address complex, interrelated transactions and disputes within a single firm.
