The acquisition will expand the range of solutions and services available to both companies’ customers, creating a market-leading transatlantic IT solutions platform that can support clients with international requirements while also providing growth opportunities in both organizations’ markets.
Softcat ranked as CRN’s #1 VAR in the UK for the last three years, also operates in Ireland and other global markets, and offers services spanning software licensing, hardware, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, AI, data and workplace solutions. Its acquisition of GDT is the culmination of the firm’s multi-year search for a North American company with the scale, capabilities and cultural alignment to support its international growth strategy.
GDT will retain its name, leadership team and workforce, operating as a wholly owned Softcat subsidiary.

Closing Date
GDT’s acquisition by Softcat positions the company to build on that momentum with expanded resources, broader offerings and a strategic path to greater market impact. The transaction is expected to close no later than the end of Q1 calendar year 2027, subject to customary regulatory filings and approvals.
