MALAGA, Spain, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Lightera today announced that its Multicore Fiber (MCF) technology is featured in the OIF multi-vendor interoperability demonstration on stand 2126 at ECOC 2026, highlighting continued progress toward practical deployment of Space Division Multiplexing (SDM) technologies.
The demonstration brings together technologies from across the optical ecosystem to show how emerging solutions can operate in multi-vendor environments. Lightera’s participation builds on its continued development of MCF technology designed to increase transmission density by enabling multiple optical channels within a single fiber.
