Datalink Networks Responds to Critical Cybersecurity Vulnerabilities Impacting Global Web Infrastructure

Recent PHP, Node.js, and certificate security concerns underscore the need for continuous vulnerability management and rapid remediation.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Datalink Networks, a nationally recognized managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, and IT consulting provider, today addressed a series of significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities affecting widely used technologies across the global internet ecosystem.

On Oct. 21, two critical vulnerabilities affecting PHP, identified as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 and collectively known as “PHP2Shell,” prompted an alert from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The vulnerabilities can allow unauthenticated remote code execution and affect PHP installations serving web requests. CISA has urged organizations to identify affected systems and immediately apply available security updates, prioritizing internet-facing infrastructure.

The disclosure comes amid additional security concerns involving Node.js and the global certificate trust ecosystem. Node.js released security updates addressing several high-severity vulnerabilities, including issues involving TLS hostname validation. Additionally, eight intermediate certificates associated with certificate authority eMudhra were found to contain weak private keys, creating concerns around fraudulent certificate issuance and website impersonation.

Together, these events highlight a broader cybersecurity challenge: organizations depend on layers of software, applications, infrastructure, and third-party technologies that must be continuously identified, monitored, and secured.

“What makes these events significant isn’t just their technical severity. It’s how deeply these technologies are embedded in the systems businesses rely on every day,” said Kodi Oshiro, SOC Manager at Datalink Networks. “Organizations cannot control when the next critical vulnerability is discovered, but they can control how prepared they are to identify their exposure, respond quickly, and reduce their risk.”

Datalink Networks encourages organizations to take a measured but immediate approach by identifying internet-facing assets and affected technologies, applying available security updates, monitoring for suspicious activity, and validating that existing cybersecurity controls are operating effectively.

This type of visibility is particularly important when widely used technologies may exist within websites, applications, servers, or other systems without being immediately apparent. Knowing where vulnerable technology exists is an important part of being able to remediate it quickly.

Datalink helps organizations strengthen their security posture through vulnerability management, threat monitoring, managed firewall and network security, identity and access management, and extended detection and response (XDR). Datalink’s MSSP services include vulnerability assessments across devices, networks, data centers, and cloud environments, along with monitoring and remediation capabilities.

“The widespread nature of these vulnerabilities makes immediate attention and remediation critical,” said Brian Wisdom, Vice President of Sales at Datalink Networks. “Datalink is here to help organizations understand their exposure, address the risks, and take the necessary steps to keep their environments secure.”

These recent disclosures reinforce a simple message: security is an ongoing process, not a one-time investment. Organizations cannot predict when the next critical vulnerability will emerge, but they can prepare their environments to identify, prioritize, and respond to risk as quickly as possible.
