Former Bluecore and Salesforce executive Arvind Krishnan has been hired to lead development of the Alteryx analytics and data transformation platform as the company positions itself as a ‘data clearinghouse’ for AI systems.

AI and analytics platform developer Alteryx has hired former Bluecore and Salesforce executive Arvind Krishnan as the company’s new CTO, the company said Monday.

Krishnan fills the CTO spot previously held by Digvijay Lamba, who left the company in May after three years and eight months in the post. Lamba joined Alteryx in October 2021 when it bought Lore IO, the AI-based data management technology developer he founded. Lamba is now the CTO at OneTrust, an Atlanta-based developer of data security, risk management and governance technology.

Krishnan’s appointment as CTO is the latest change in the Alteryx executive ranks that began in early December with the appointment of Andy MacMillan as CEO. Just last week the company hired Michelle Huff, previously CMO at UserTesting, to serve in the CMO post at Alteryx. MacMillan was CEO at UserTesting before joining Alteryx.

The company also previously hired Nali Giliana as chief of staff and strategy in December, Jon Pexton as CFO and Steven Birdsall as CRO in February, and Ben Canning as chief product officer in March.

The management changes follow the March 2024 acquisition of then-publicly held Alteryx by Clearlake Capital Group and Insight Partners in a deal valued at $4.4 billion.

Krishnan’s hiring also comes as Alteryx looks to position its AI-powered analytics and data preparation system as a platform for preparing data and managing data flows for the wave of AI applications and agentic systems business and organizations are developing.

In May the company debuted Alteryx One, a new unified platform as the company’s flagship offering and outlined a strategy to position the company as a developer of AI Data Clearinghouse technology that provides transformed, governed data for AI applications and agents.

Krishnan has more than 25 years of experience “leading global engineering organizations and delivering scalable SaaS innovations,” according to the Alteryx announcement of his appointment. As head of the Alteryx global engineering team, Krishnan will lead the company’s “technical vision and execution across its strategic pillars,” including the Alteryx One platform and AI Data Clearinghouse portfolio and its initiatives across cloud data platforms.

“Alteryx is at the forefront of helping enterprises harness the full power of analytics and AI,” CEO MacMillan said in a statement. “Arvind brings the kind of deep technical leadership and customer-first thinking that will propel our innovation agenda forward, particularly as we scale Alteryx One, deepen our cloud partnerships, and evolve our AI Data Clearinghouse to drive safe, governed AI adoption. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team.”

“Joining Alteryx at this transformative stage is a unique opportunity to build the future of enterprise analytics and AI,” Krishnan said in the statement. “I’m energized by the company’s vision and the caliber of the engineering organization. Together, we’ll continue to advance an open, scalable and governed platform that helps customers innovate with confidence.”

Krishnan worked at Bluecore for nearly four years, serving as CTO at the time of his departure and as senior vice president of engineering before that, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to Bluecore he worked at Salesforce for five and a half years—his second stint at the company—including serving as senior vice president of engineering at the time he left the company.

Before that he worked at Desk.com for just over two years and before that was at Salesforce for six and a half years in development management roles. He was a principal member of the technical staff at Oracle from 2001 to 2007.
