The cybersecurity vendor says the acquisition will boost its capabilities around proactively securing against vulnerabilities and other exposure risks.

Arctic Wolf announced Monday that it has acquired a startup focused on exposure management, Sevco Security, in a move to expand the security operations platform vendor’s capabilities around proactive cyber defense.

The cybersecurity vendor did not disclose terms of the deal for Sevco.

Arctic Wolf said the Sevco acquisition will boost its capabilities around assessing vulnerabilities and other exposure risks, and then proactively securing against those exposures.

In a LinkedIn post, Arctic Wolf CEO Nick Schneider wrote that the acquisition underscores how the vendor is “strengthening our strategy around proactive security and helping organizations reduce risk before attacks occur.”

Sevco offers cloud-native capabilities that will help enable the Arctic Wolf Aurora Platform to unify asset intelligence with vulnerability context as well as with other security controls, in order to provide improved identification and prioritization of exposure risks, Arctic Wolf said in a news release.

Founded in 2020, Sevco—which had appeared on multiple CRN startups to watch lists in recent years—announced the launch of a new partner program for MSPs and MSSPs in 2023.

The acquisition by Arctic Wolf follows prior expansions of the vendor’s Aurora platform through M&A, including last year’s acquisition of Cylance from BlackBerry. The $160 million deal formed the basis for Arctic Wolf’s launch of Aurora Endpoint Security, which is the company’s offering in endpoint detection and response (EDR).

Speaking with CRN in December, Schneider said that the biggest opportunity for channel partners in 2026 is “to really lean in to the Arctic Wolf platform.”

Overall, “I think the platform solves a multitude of problems for end customers and drives efficiencies within their SOC (Security Operations Center),” he said. “And I think the outcomes that the platform can deliver are really important for the channel community to lean in to and understand … I do think it will become a pretty material focus of conversation [with customers].”
