Entech CEO On Acquiring LAN Infotech To Expand Reach Across Florida: ‘It Was The Perfect Fit’

‘Michael has an outstanding reputation, not just in the MSP community but locally in the Fort Lauderdale and South Florida markets. He’s built an incredible customer base and a dedicated team—it’s all the things you look for when you’re hunting for the right add-on partner,’ says Entech CEO Buddy Martin on acquiring Michael Goldstein’s MSP LAN Infotech.

Michael Goldstein wasn’t looking for his MSP business, LAN Infotech, to be acquired. But after meeting Buddy Martin, CEO of Entech, earlier this year, he saw how aligned their two MSPs were.

“The funny part is, Buddy and I met at XChange Orlando,” Goldstein, president and CEO of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based LAN Infotech, told CRN in an exclusive interview.

At CRN parent company The Channel Company’s XChange event in March earlier this year, Goldstein and Martin struck up a conversation. Martin (pictured above), CEO of Fort Myers, Fla.-based MSP Entech, was looking to expand further across the state.

“We had mutual business philosophies, and I really loved their corporate culture,” Goldstein said. “They were looking to plant a flag on the East Coast of Florida, and we thought we could be that perfect flag.”

Now, less than nine months later, Entech has acquired LAN Infotech, strengthening its mission to be the premier MSP for small and midsize businesses across the state. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Goldstein will now serve as market president, South Florida. “I’ll still be out there talking to customers, supporting our team and being active locally. That’s the part of the business I love.”

He added that the decision to join Entech wasn’t part of a long-term exit strategy but simply felt right.

“You know, in the MSP space, we’re always reading about M&A and thinking about what’s next,” he said. “But this really came by accident. The stars just aligned. It worked out for the best.”

All 19 employees from LAN Infotech will transition under the Entech banner, joining a team of more than 80 across four cities. “It’s a great expansion for us. It gives us the chance to be more structured, combine forces and serve customers on both coasts of Florida,” Goldstein added.

For Entech’s Martin, being in South Florida and the East Coast is critical to that mission. And the decision came down to shared values and a strong cultural fit.

“We’ve been looking for the right partner for a long time, and with Michael and LAN Infotech, we knew right away it was the perfect fit,” Martin told CRN in an interview. “Michael has an outstanding reputation, not just in the MSP community but locally in the Fort Lauderdale and South Florida markets. He’s built an incredible customer base and a dedicated team—it’s all the things you look for when you’re hunting for the right add-on partner.”

Goldstein said the companies’ strengths complement each other as they both have deep expertise in hospitality, golf and resort IT, “which fits perfectly in South Florida.”

“And their security offerings really enhance what we can deliver,” he added. “It’s just bigger and better for our customers.”

While it wasn’t part of his three- or five-year plan, Goldstein said he’s energized going into this new chapter and excited to bring even stronger solutions to customers across the state.

“I feel like I’ve reached the top of one mountain, and I’m ready to keep climbing,” he said. “With AI transforming everything, the next few years are going to be really interesting, and I’m not ready to go anywhere.”
