‘You’ll see us continue to bring more of that simplicity through the infusion of AI across our platform to reduce that complexity and manual processes,’ Omnissa Chief Marketing Officer Renu Upadhyay said.

Omnissa, the spin-off of VMware’s end-user computing business, is releasing a series of updates to its products that add agentic artificial intelligence, new device and servers management capabilities plus partnerships with other vendors in an effort to stand out from the crowded EUC market and reduce the number of tools solution providers and customers leverage.

The Mountain View, Calif.-based vendor revealed the updates as part of its Omnissa One conference held this week in Las Vegas. Omnissa Chief Marketing Officer Renu Upadhyay told CRN in an interview that for solution providers, the updates help them bring more value for customers and provide an opportunity for more services built on top of a single platform.

“With the infusion of AI across our platform, with the ability to deliver those that value-add, they can engage in a much more relevant and top-of-mind conversation that the CXO, CIO (chief information officer), CEO is having inside of our customers,” Upadhyay said. “You’ll see us continue to bring more of that simplicity through the infusion of AI across our platform to reduce that complexity and manual processes.”

Omnissa One 2025

Shad Williams, global EUC practice manager for the Global Solutions & Architecture group in Maryland Heights, Mo.-based Omnissa partner World Wide Technology–No. 9 on CRN’s 2025 Solution Provider 500–told CRN in a recent interview that Omnissa’s investment in innovation and expanding its platform is a win in a field with so many options and high competition.

He applauded Omnissa evolving past its days as a VMware business and inking new partnerships with third-parties. The space has received heightened attention after pricing changes at legacy vendors VMware and Citrix, Williams said.

“Everybody is touched by it (EUC) in some way, shape or form,” he said.

Omnissa Updates

An agentic service expected to enter beta next quarter will bring users human-in-the-loop workflows for interpreting platform signals, translating them into actions and orchestrating end-to-end tasks.

The first agentic workflow will be a version of Vulnerability Defense, itself a feature entering limited availability soon that combines Workspace One with CrowdStike Falcon Exposure Management.

Omnissa also has plans for an AI-powered assistant called Omni that gives users a natural-language interface to simplify data insights access, knowledge searches and script creation, according to the vendor. The assistant should reduce manual effort and improve resolution times.

Upadhyay described the AI capabilities as part of recognizing the company’s vision of autonomous, self-healing, self-configuring workspaces.

AI “is here–employees are very likely already using some kind of tool and technology inside of the workplace,” she said. The updates aim to “make sure that you are part of that new trend that’s happening, and make sure that the EUC IT admins can really facilitate that AI adoption and really be in charge of it.”

Other updates coming out of Omnissa One include updated Windows management capabilities set to become generally available (GA) next quarter and revamped server management abilities now in limited availability with GA expected next quarter.

For Windows management, users will have the ability to run WorkspaceOne Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) on devices that leverage legacy PC life cycle management tools. Users won’t face policy conflict with legacy PCLMs and cut down on risks from legacy migration to WorkspaceOne. By moving to a single Windows and endpoint management tool, users can reduce their costs as well, according to Omnissa.

For Windows server management, Omnissa aims for a less expensive option than per-processor licensed tools and infrastructure intensive ones. Omnissa’s tools are licensed per-server and have cloud-native patches and policy, according to the vendor. Users can manage servers across mobile, desktop, virtual and other endpoints.

On the expanded partnerships front, the collaboration with CrowdStrike on Vulnerability Defense aims to allow for more proactive security and quicker remediation in digital workspaces. Omnissa will receive security statuses directly from CrowdStrike Falcon, and IT teams can collaborate through dashboards and reports. Users will have visibility across physical and virtual endpoints and applications.

Omnissa revealed same-day support for new Apple operating systems through direct integration between Workspace One and Apple’s GitHub. Users now have immediate access to new OS features. Apple software update enforcement, Managed Device Attestation and platform single sign on (SSO) integration with Apple Business Manager and Managed Apple identities (IDs) are also now GA for Workspace One users.

Becoming GA next quarter is Omnissa Horizon 8 support for Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV). Users will have the option of deploying virtual desktops and applications on Nutanix’s modern hypervisor for on-premises, multi-cloud and hybrid environments, according to Omnissa.

Omnissa users also now have support for a variety of Nvidia products, including RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition graphics processing units (GPUs), RTX Pro Servers and virtual GPU (vGPU) software, plus Platform9’s Private Cloud Director. The Platform9 joint product should enter preview later this month, according to Omnissa.
