LISBON, Oct. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — WORLD AVIATION FESTIVAL — Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic Avionics), the global leader in in-flight engagement and connectivity (IFEC), today unveiled a range of major enhancements to its award-winning Arc™ in-flight map platform.

Panasonic Avionics

Patrick Biggerstaff, Senior Director of Product Management, Digital Solutions, at Panasonic Avionics, said: “Passengers are looking for more engaging, personalized, and inclusive in-flight experiences, but traditional maps have often felt static and lacking in emotional or informational depth. At the same time, airlines need tools that differentiate their brand, promote their network, and integrate in-flight engagement into broader digital ecosystems, all while meeting growing accessibility expectations.”

“The latest Arc evolutions address these needs, transforming the map into a platform for storytelling, inclusivity, and brand connection, while reinforcing Panasonic Avionics’ position as a leader in map innovation and passenger-centric design.”

Since its launch, Arc has been selected by 35 of the world’s leading airlines for over 1,000 aircraft and is already in service across multiple fleets and geographies. By combining cinematic design, brand-building tools, and inclusive functionality with developer-friendly APIs, Arc continues to push the moving map category forward and redefine the in-flight map experience.

Arc’s new features, which are now available to airlines worldwide, take the in-flight map experience to the next level. They are designed to deliver a dynamic passenger experience, integrate and strengthen airline branding, improve accessibility, and extend integration across the IFE eco-system.

Arc Vistas – Cinematic Passenger Storytelling
Arc Vistas transforms the map into an immersive, destination-inspired storytelling platform. Using the Arc map engine, Vistas delivers cinematic fly-through visuals that elevate anticipation, enhance emotional connection, and provide a serene in-flight companion for passengers.

Airline Route Maps
Airlines can now highlight their global networks directly within the in-flight experience through customizable route maps. This feature gives carriers a powerful way to engage passengers with their destinations and reinforce brand identity.

Increased Accessibility
With the addition of text scaling and color adjustments, Arc is setting a new benchmark for inclusive in-flight map design. These enhancements ensure readability for passengers with visual impairments and improve visibility for colorblind or low-vision users, reflecting Panasonic Avionics’ broader commitment to accessibility across the in-flight journey.

Arc Integration APIs
Newly introduced integration APIs will now enable airlines and third-party developers to bring Arc® map data and visuals to other passenger touchpoints, including airline apps, portals, and seatback experiences. This developer-friendly approach reduces integration complexity and supports faster time-to-market for customized experiences.
