Newest Addition to Roland DG’s VersaOBJECT Series Allows for Faster Direct-to-Object Decoration

IRVINE, Calif., April 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Roland DGA, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers, printer/cutters, and other innovative digital devices, has announced the North American launch of the Roland DG VersaOBJECT™ LO-640-F3 – an innovative 64-inch UV flatbed printer designed for high-volume, high-precision direct printing on substrates and objects up to 9.5 inches (242 mm) thick.

The new Roland DG VersaOBJECT LO-640-F3 large-format UV flatbed printer, now available to customers throughout North America, can print directly onto a wide variety of substrates and 3D objects up to 9.5" thick. It's also designed for high-volume direct printing, with top print speeds that are approximately three times faster than those of previous VersaOBJECT UV flatbed models.

The new Roland DG VersaOBJECT LO-640-F3 large-format UV flatbed printer, now available to customers throughout North America, can print directly onto a wide variety of substrates and 3D objects up to 9.5″ thick. It’s also designed for high-volume direct printing, with top print speeds that are approximately three times faster than those of previous VersaOBJECT UV flatbed models.

Engineered to maximize productivity without sacrificing image quality, the LO-640-F3 is capable of printing at speeds of up to 332 square feet per hour (30.8 square meters per hour) in CMYK x2 ink mode – approximately three times faster than Roland DG’s previous 64-inch VersaOBJECT flatbed (the CO-640i). With its exceptional production capabilities, the LO-640-F3 is unbeatable for businesses within the sign and industrial markets, allowing operations to streamline workflows, reduce operational costs, and dramatically enhance overall output. Its versatility, speed, and outstanding material compatibility, makes this state-of-the-art flatbed perfect for producing rigid signage, indoor and outdoor displays, packaging prototypes, customized pieces for interior design such as wooden boards and canvas art, and more. Plus, with its impressive maximum print height and solid construction, the LO-640-F3 can accommodate objects that are larger in size and weigh up to 220.5 pounds (100 kg).

The LO-640-F3 printer’s ability to print directly on a wide range of materials, including plastic, wood, and leather, also makes it perfect for customizing and personalizing three-dimensional objects, including bottles, toys, and other specialty items, including those with irregular or curved surfaces.

Ryugo Nimura, President, Global Sales and Marketing Division, said, “This is truly an ideal device for customers who want to produce high-quality, customized decorations with large production volumes. The combination of two high-precision printheads and high-power UV-LED lamps allows for beautiful, high-definition printing of small characters, fine textures, and gradations, even at high output speeds.”

The LO-640-F3 supports EUV5 inks in CMYKOrRe, plus Clear, White, and Primer. High-opacity White ink is often used as a base coat when printing on transparent film or dark objects, while Orange (Or) and Red (Re) inks ensure accurate color reproduction of brand colors as well as unparalleled rich, vivid color expressions. The use of Clear ink produces unique finishing effects, including gloss or matte textures and simulated embossing.

Primer ink enables printing on materials that were previously difficult, such as glass and metal, making it ideal for personalizing a large variety of consumer products as well as the customization of industrial products and parts, interior decoration, sign graphics, POP displays, packaging, and other high-mix, low-volume production.

The LO-640-F3 comes standard with Roland DG’s latest RIP software, VersaWorks® 7, which has greatly enhanced processing capacity and is compatible with both macOS and Windows. In addition, it’s compatible with Roland DG Connect, a powerful, comprehensive cloud-based platform that provides users with a wealth of useful information and resources for keeping their devices in peak operating condition, optimizing workflow, and growing their businesses. Also included is PrintAutoMate which supports high-mix, low-volume printing, allowing users to provide more efficient and accurate personalization services.

“The LO-640-F3 is uniquely designed for operations seeking unrivaled productivity, exceptional image quality, and advanced product customization capabilities, said Roland DGA’s Director of Product Management, Brian Brooks. “These qualities make this amazing flatbed an excellent choice for businesses like production sign shops, promotional product manufacturers, packaging prototype labs, and industrial product decorators that want to optimize productivity, shorten delivery times, reduce costs, and increase profitability.”
