SAP will integrate Reltio’s master data management platform with the SAP Business Data Cloud, improving customers’ ability to unify and cleanse data for business analytics tasks and AI agents.
SAP has struck a deal to acquire Reltio, a leading provider of master data management software, in a move that SAP said will help its customers more effectively prepare their data for business analytics and AI tasks, including agentic AI.
SAP said Reltio’s technology will become a core component of its SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), the company’s software-as-a-service data platform used to connect and govern enterprise data.
While BDC already works with both SAP application data and third-party, non-SAP data sources, SAP said the integration of Reltio will accelerate BDC’s evolution to become “a fully interoperable enterprise data platform for enterprise-wide agentic AI,” according to the news announcement.

The addition of Reltio’s capabilities will also improve data used by SAP Joule, the company’s AI copilot, and Joule agents.
“Reltio is a natural fit with SAP. Acquiring them will further improve our position as a leading business AI provider, combining SAP and non-SAP data to deliver data context that business AI requires,” said Muhammad Alam, member of the SAP Executive Board, SAP Product & Engineering. “AI cannot reach its full potential when data is fragmented across business units, platforms and domains without connection or context.”
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The companies expect to complete the acquisition, which is subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals, in either the second or third quarter of this year.
“Joining forces with SAP presents a tremendous opportunity for us to accelerate our mission,” said Reltio CEO and founder Manish Sood, in a statement. “Enterprise AI needs trusted context that is open and interoperable across the heterogeneous IT landscapes our customers run. This combination accelerates our ability to deliver Reltio as the system of context across SAP and non-SAP environments, while maintaining continuity for our customers and our partner ecosystem.”
Reltio, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., says its Reltio Context Intelligence Platform harmonizes, unifies and enriches structured and unstructured data in real time, allowing systems and AI agents to act on trusted data.
Reltio’s software includes AI-based entity resolution capabilities that identify and merge related records from different applications and formats to create a single system of record and provide a unified view of customers, products, suppliers, locations and employees across both SAP and non-SAP applications.
Other Reltio platform capabilities include data integration, data cleansing, data quality management, and compliance. SAP said the Reltio capabilities will work alongside SAP BDC applications to improve decisions, reduce integration complexity and deliver trusted, consistent data that’s critical for business processes and AI use cases.
Reltio also offers prebuilt, industry-specific “velocity packs” that include data models, rules, matching logic and integrations, and solutions tailored to sectors like life sciences, healthcare and financial services.
While Reltio will be integrated within SAP BDC, customers will be able to purchase the Reltio Platform as a separate product or with other SAP products. The Reltio portfolio will also remain available as a standalone offering “for the foreseeable future,” SAP said.
