From AI-powered EDR vendors to widely used MDR platforms, here’s a look at 20 key companies in endpoint and managed security.
Coolest Endpoint And Managed Security Companies
Spurred by the surging adoption of AI tools that are escalating security risks on endpoint devices, the endpoint security market is seeing a resurgence of growth in demand. While EDR (endpoint detection and response) and EPP (endpoint protection platform) have been seen as essential tools for protecting organizations for many years now, some vendors report that a new phase of demand for endpoint security is now underway in connection with the deployment of GenAI applications such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude, as well as AI web browsers such as Perplexity’s Comet and ChatGPT Atlas.

Growth of the market for modern endpoint security surged 17.6 percent to reach total revenue of $14.51 billion in 2024, according to the most recent figures available from IDC. The top six market-share leaders—Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Broadcom, Trellix, Sophos and SentinelOne—all saw double-digit percentage growth for their endpoint security offerings, IDC reported.
At the same time, the MDR (managed detection and response) market has continued to see huge demand—though there as well, AI is driving major transformation. MDR is especially poised to be reshaped as it is far more reliant on human involvement than most other segments of cybersecurity. That leads to a strong potential for AI to augment or even replace some functions of the human analyst responsible for delivering MDR.
