BEIJING, March 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — A news report from CRI Online:

The emergence of DeepSeek has further arose the global attention on AI, with artificial intelligence rapidly penetrating fields such as smart manufacturing, financial risk control, and intelligent transportation, giving rise to novel industrial models and new economic growth points. This surge has led to an explosive growth in AI computing power demand, while its development faces multiple challenges including uneven resource distribution, high energy consumption, and insufficient exploration of application scenarios.

In order to foster greater consensus and continuously promote global AI computing power industry development, the World Internet Conference International Organization hosted the “AI Computing Power Development” forum in Barcelona, Spain on March 4. Centered around the theme “Building an Integrated, Inclusive, and Green AI Computing Power Ecosystem”, it was conducted during the 2025 World Mobile Congress (2025 MWC).

Yang Jianwen, Deputy Director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, attended the forum and delivered a speech. Over a hundred guests from around the world participated. Attendees unanimously expressed that inclusive and cross-industry cooperation are key to achieving sustainable AI development, and that international cooperation should be strengthened in the future to jointly address the challenges of computing power and energy consumption. They sincerely hoped that the World Internet Conference could play a greater role in fields such as AI computing power, providing a platform for all parties to jointly promote the development of computing power, accelerating digital transformation and upgrading, and enabling digital technology to better benefit mankind.

“Computing power is not the ‘private property’ of a few enterprises but a ‘public good’ for the whole society”, noted Zhao Houlin, Former Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), during the forum. He stressed that computing power development should adhere to the principles of AI for good and inclusiveness. From his viewpoint, what is more important than developing technologies is the bottom line for development, and what is more important than the peak of computing power is its value to benefit all mankind.
