Premium WiFi 7 technology now comes standard for every new Brightspeed fiber customer

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Brightspeed, the nation’s third-largest fiber broadband builder empowering consumers and businesses with the country’s fastest internet service,* announced that WiFi 7 is now standard on every Brightspeed fiber internet plan, giving new customers access to the latest generation of WiFi technology at no additional cost.

WiFi has become the connection behind nearly everything people do at home, from streaming and gaming to video calls, working, learning and managing smart-home devices. Brightspeed WiFi 7 is designed to make that connection faster and more responsive, especially as more devices compete for bandwidth at the same time.

“WiFi 7 is about more than faster speeds – it’s about giving customers an internet experience that can keep up with everyday life at home,” said Marge Jackson, president and chief marketing officer, Consumer Fiber. “We believe that customers shouldn’t have to pay more or choose a premium plan to get a great WiFi experience. Making WiFi 7 standard across our fiber plans is one way we’re delivering internet as it should be.”

With WiFi 7 included in every Brightspeed fiber internet plan, new customers get access to technology designed to support the way people use the internet today without having to upgrade to a higher-priced tier. Whether one person is streaming in the living room, another is gaming upstairs or someone else is taking a video call from the kitchen, WiFi 7 is designed to help keep the connection performing when the home network is busy.

Key benefits of WiFi 7 include:

  • Faster speeds: WiFi 7 can deliver speeds up to two times faster than WiFi 6, helping customers get more from their fiber connection for streaming, downloading and gaming.
  • More reliable connections: WiFi 7 can use multiple frequency bands simultaneously, helping maintain a more stable connection as customers move throughout the home.
  • More devices at once: WiFi 7 is designed to efficiently manage busy home networks, helping households stay connected across phones and laptops to TVs, gaming systems and smart-home technology.
  • Lower lag: WiFi 7 is designed to reduce latency, or the delay between sending and receiving information, which can make a difference for video calls, online games and real-time apps.
  • Smarter connectivity: WiFi 7 includes technology designed to help manage interference and crowded network environments.

What WiFi 7 means for Brightspeed customers

New eligible Brightspeed fiber customers will receive WiFi 7 as part of their fiber internet plan at no additional cost. New customers do not need to take any additional action to receive the technology. WiFi 7 compatible equipment is now included with new Brightspeed fiber internet plans at no additional cost.

Existing Brightspeed fiber customers may also be able to upgrade to WiFi 7, depending on their current service and equipment. Customers can log in to their Brightspeed account to check eligibility and available options or contact Brightspeed for assistance.

Brightspeed remains focused on improving the internet experience for all customers as it continues to expand and enhance its fiber network, which currently reaches more than 2.8 million locations, and continues to expand.
