PAPEETE, French Polynesia, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — First phase of a comprehensive transformation, Air Tahiti Nui announces today an agreement with SpaceX to equip its entire fleet with Starlink’s fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, thereby offering its passengers the ability to stay connected from take-off to landing. Whether streaming live shows, responding to emails, or catching up on messages, travelers can enjoy seamless and reliable in-flight connectivity — completely free of charge.

Air Tahiti Nui

By adopting this new technological standard already deployed across airlines around the world, Air Tahiti Nui is aligning its service offering with industry best practices to provide its passengers with a premium, high-performance travel experience.

Passengers will thus enjoy:

  • free Internet access in all travel classes;
  • ultra-high-speed, low-latency connectivity (25–30 ms);
  • uninterrupted global coverage, eliminating the traditional dead zones on long-haul flights (over oceans and near the poles).

This decision marks a key milestone in the Polynesian airline’s development plan. It demonstrates Air Tahiti Nui’s commitment to making no compromises on the quality of its service and to tangibly meeting the legitimate expectations of its customers.

Lionel Guérin, CEO of Air Tahiti Nui, explains: “Our passengers place their trust in our airline. They expect us to provide a flawless in-flight experience. Since high-speed connectivity is now a fundamental part of a successful trip, we are naturally investing in this service—which truly matters to them—so that Air Tahiti Nui remains synonymous with excellence, comfort, and innovation, in line with the most rigorous standards of our industry.”

The airline expects to bring Starlink onboard in 2027.
