‘My time with AWS was fulfilling beyond belief as we worked hard, had fun and made history,’ said Bryan Davis, AWS’ former director of financial services, AWS global sales.

Amazon Web Services’ director of financial services for North America, Bryan Davis, has left the $132 billion cloud market-share leader to join Ab Initio Software.

“My time with AWS was fulfilling beyond belief as we worked hard, had fun and made history,” Davis, AWS’ former director of financial services, AWS global sales, said on LinkedIn this week, in a post that garnered over 260 comments.

Davis was a nine-year AWS executive responsible for leading and developing North American sales and go-to-market for the AWS insurance customer base. He was selected by AWS to ring the closing bell for the Nasdaq stock market in January 2024.

Davis was also responsible for AWS’ financial services organization development and execution of strategic priorities and initiatives.

“I am eternally grateful for having the opportunity to build with and learn from the best,” he said.

Davis’s AWS, Brocade And Cisco History

Davis began his AWS career in 2017 as a district manager but quickly rose through the ranks to become director of U.S. Southeast and mid-Atlantic enterprise sales and go-to-market teams by 2022.

He held the executive role of director of enterprise financial services for Eastern U.S. sales and go-to-market across all sub-verticals until his promotion in early 2024 to director of financial services, AWS global sales.

Prior to AWS, Davis spent 10 years at networking giant Cisco.

He held regional director of sales and operations roles in the U.S. at Cisco, as well as regional sales leader roles for Cisco’s data center business.

Before Cisco, Davis was a regional sales manager at former networking company Brocade for five years.

Davis Joins Americas Ab Initio

Davis left AWS this week to join software developer and data processing firm Ab Initio Software.

“I am excited to share I will be joining the Americas Ab Initio team, helping customers harness the full potential of their data as a competitive advantage,” said Daivs on LinkedIn.

The Lexington, Mass.-based software company’s platform is designed for large-scale data integration and analysis, along with end-to-end data management products.

AWS parent company Amazon is set to report the financial results of its fourth-quarter 2025 in early February.
