The cybersecurity vendor says that Veriti ‘pioneered’ the category of preemptive exposure management.

Check Point Software Technologies announced Tuesday it has reached a deal to acquire Veriti, a startup that “pioneered” the category of preemptive exposure management, according to the cybersecurity vendor.

Terms of the deal, which is expected to close by the end of the current quarter, were not disclosed by Check Point, though a report by Calcalist indicated a price tag of more than $100 million.

The planned acquisition of Veriti aims to bolster Check Point’s Infinity security management platform, which brings a “prevention-first” approach to cybersecurity, Check Point CEO Nadav Zafrir said in the news release.

Veriti will boost the platform by enabling “multi-vendor remediation across the entire security stack,” Zafrir said in a quote included in the release.

The startup was founded in 2021 and “pioneered the Preemptive Exposure Management category,” which is focused on “actively discovering and mitigating risks across siloed tools,” Check Point said in the news release.

Veriti brings integrations with more than 70 security vendors, according to Check Point.

Notably, key integrations for Veriti include an integration with cloud and AI security vendor Wiz, which has had a strategic partnership with Check Point since February. Veriti capabilities include ingestion of cloud exposure telemetry from Wiz, which can enable automated patching of assets via gateways from vendors including Check Point, the company said in the news release.

The vendor’s planned acquisition of Veriti will ultimately allow for “enhancing” Check Point’s execution around on its Wiz partnership, Check Point said. In March, Google announced a deal to acquire Wiz for a company record of $32 billion.

Following the closure of the Veriti acquisition, Check Point said the plan is to integrate capabilities from Veriti into its Threat Exposure and Risk Management offering within the vendor’s Infinity Platform.
