Here are AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Alibaba and Oracle’s global market share figures for first quarter 2026, according to new data by Synergy Research Group.
The worldwide cloud market share numbers are in for first quarter 2026 with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and Google Cloud battling for cloud supremacy with AI being the tip of the spear.
“Amazon maintains a strong lead in the market, though Microsoft and Google continue to achieve substantially higher growth rates,” said John Dinsdale, chief analyst at Synergy Research Group, in an email to CRN.

‘Take A Bow, AI’: Cloud Market Soars To $129 Billion In One Quarter
Before jumping into the worldwide cloud market share results in Q1, let’s take a quick look at the overall market.

Total enterprise cloud infrastructure services spending hit $129 billion, representing an increase of 35 percent year over year.
“The Q1 market is now fifteen times larger than it was a decade ago and continues to expand at 35 percent annually,” said Dinsdale. “Reaching a half-trillion-dollar run rate underscores the far-reaching impact of cloud computing and AI on the IT landscape.”
“Take a bow, AI. Ever since ChatGPT was launched in late 2022, the cloud market has gone into overdrive,” Dinsdale said.
Looking ahead, Synergy forecasts sustained strong growth in the years ahead, with AI continuing to drive usage, unlock new use cases and increase cloud providers’ total revenue.

No. 5: Alibaba

Outside of America, the largest cloud provider continues to be China’s Alibaba, which won 4 percent global market share in Q1 2026.
Alibaba has consistently won 4 percent market share for the past several years.
In March, Alibaba’s cloud business reported total sales of $6.2 billion for fourth quarter 2025, up 36 percent year over year.

No. 4: Oracle

Oracle nabbed the No. 4 ranking this quarter for the first time by increasing its global market share by one point quarter over quarter.
The Austin, Texas-based software giant now owns 4 percent share of the global cloud infrastructure services market.
In March, Oracle reported total cloud revenue of $8.9 billion for its third fiscal quarter 2026, representing an increase of 44 percent year over year.

No. 3: Google Cloud

Google Cloud continues to gain global enterprise cloud market share year after year and 2026 appears to be no different.
The Mountain View, Calif.-based company won 14 percent share of the cloud market, up two points year over year compared to 12 percent share in Q1 2025.
Google Cloud reported $20 billion in total cloud revenue during the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 63 percent year over year.
This brings Google Cloud’s annual run rate to $80 billion.

No. 2: Microsoft

Microsoft continues to rank No. 2 year after year for global cloud market share as the company pours billions into AI innovation and infrastructure.
The Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant won 21 percent share of the global market in Q1 2026, down one point compared to 22 percent share in Q1 2025.
Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud segment produced $34.7 billion in quarterly revenue, up 28 percent year over year.
Microsoft’s cloud group now has an annual run rate of nearly $139 billion.

AWS continues to lead the global cloud infrastructure services market by winning 28 percent share in first quarter 2026.
AWS’ 28 percent market share in the quarter, however, is down one point compared to 29 percent share AWS won during Q1 2025.
The Seattle-based cloud and AI superstar generated $37.6 billion in revenue in Q1 2026, representing an increase of 28 percent year over year.
This pushes Amazon cloud unit AWS’ annual run rate above $150 billion.

Huawei Market Share: 2 Percent
Tencent Market Share: 2 Percent
U.S.-based tech giant Salesforce alongside Chinese-based companies Huawei and Tencent, each generated approximately 2 percent global market share in Q1 2025. These three companies generated the same market share percentage in fourth-quarter 2025.
The other vendors that had a global cloud market share of 1 percent for Q4 2024 were Akamai, Anthropic, Baidu, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, CoreWeave, Databricks, IBM, NTT, OpenAI, Snowflake and SAP.
