Even as frontier AI models such as Anthropic’s Claude Mythos create new levels of urgency around cybersecurity, the only reasonable answer is for vendors and partners to come together to meet the challenge, according to CrowdStrike Chief Business Officer Daniel Bernard.
In an interview for the latest episode of Security or Else!—a new CRN video series hosted by senior editor Kyle Alspach—Bernard discussed what CrowdStrike is doing to meaningfully reduce the increased cyber risk from the arrival of ultra-powerful AI models for vulnerability discovery and exploitation.

The cybersecurity giant launched its frontier AI security initiative, Project QuiltWorks, in April, just weeks after Anthropic disclosed details about its Claude Mythos model. CrowdStrike has increasingly been expanding the initiative to more partners, most recently with the announcement earlier this month that Project QuiltWorks is now open to a broad set of MSPs and other partners.
“Instead of uniting everybody around, ‘We’re scared about what this is,’ or risk—it’s [about] what do we proactively do on the Falcon platform with our frontier AI model partners to go meet customers where they are—and to actually stop risk and limit risk, and then ultimately fix risk,” Bernard said during the Security or Else! interview.
All in all, the efforts around the industry and channel represent “the greatest mobilization in cyber that there may have ever really been,” he said.
Bernard also spoke about the emergence of AI agents as a new attack vector and why cybersecurity has become increasingly essential for enabling AI adoption.
Ultimately, “I think it’s an opportunity that really hasn’t ever been there before,” Bernard said. “We were ready for it the whole time. [But] the market wasn’t ready, or didn’t know that they had the problem. And the light bulb in the dark room has been turned on and we’re there to solve a problem.”
The bottom line, he said, is that the cybersecurity sector can work together to move beyond the anxiety caused by the potentially unprecedented threats powered by AI.
“Am I worried? Yeah. But people that work in security are always worried,” Bernard said. “Being worried doesn’t result in a positive outcome. What results in a positive outcome is doing something about it.”
