ALBANY, N.Y., Sept. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — FirstLight, a leading provider of digital infrastructure in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, today announced the successful completion and provisioning of a 280-mile, high-capacity, dedicated network across Eastern Pennsylvania, directly connecting several strategic AI and data center sites. Selected as a primary network provider by one of the world’s largest hyperscalers, FirstLight delivered the project in just in two months, leveraging FirstLight’s owned Pennsylvania fiber backbone – which spans more than 3,200 route miles and provides connectivity across 50 of the Commonwealth’s 67 counties – along with the company’s deep regional operations expertise.

Engineered for multi-terabit scale, low latency, and high availability, FirstLight’s fiber network provides the foundational connectivity required by hyperscalers, AI developers, cloud providers, carriers, healthcare systems, universities, and enterprises operating mission-critical workloads.

“Network proximity is everything as Pennsylvania’s data center and AI corridors scale,” said Lorenzo Leuzzi, Chief Revenue Officer at FirstLight. “This build delivers the capacity, reach, and operational reliability organizations need, placing customers on net with the facilities and cloud ecosystems that drive innovation, research, and economic growth.”

“From permitting to construction to turn-up, our teams execute rapidly while ensuring network resilience throughout the projects,” added Mike Constantino, Chief Operating Officer at FirstLight. “It’s the combination of owned fiber, regional field strength, and disciplined program management that lets us deliver complex builds on aggressive timelines, without compromising uptime.”

Pennsylvania is rapidly emerging as a national AI and data center growth market, with multiple hyperscale campus announcements and major power-adjacent developments across the Commonwealth. FirstLight’s continued expansion positions customers to capitalize on this momentum with ready-to-scale, low-latency connectivity and local, expert support.
