Because the app speaks aloud, anyone nearby can understand the user, including people who don’t know sign language.
The app offers two ways to communicate: Visual Mode, with large picture cards for early communicators, and Phrase Mode, which lets users build sentences and type messages for new situations. Separate profiles let several students share one classroom device, and each item can include more than one language. A built-in analytics dashboard shows which words are used most and how vocabulary grows over time, helping teams track IEP goals. You Speak works without an internet connection, requires no account, and stores everything on the device, with no data collected, no ads and no tracking. Businesses can also use Phrase Mode to serve customers who are nonspeaking or who speak another language.
