Adding specialized facilities to support contractors’ large-scale construction projects

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Graybar, a leading distributor of electrical, industrial, automation and connectivity products and a provider of related supply chain management and logistics services, today announced plans to significantly increase its warehouse capacity across several high growth U.S. metropolitan areas by introducing project-focused STAR distribution centers.

STAR—an acronym for Storage, Transport, and Readiness—centers, are designed to serve the specialized needs of contractors working on large, complex construction projects. These dedicated facilities will bring critical materials closer to the job site and enhance Graybar’s ability to deploy labor-saving services and customized delivery options to keep construction projects on schedule.

“Graybar’s STAR Centers will provide the capacity and flexibility to deliver customized supply chain solutions for large construction projects such as data centers, manufacturing plants, healthcare facilities and utility infrastructure,” said Kathleen M. Mazzarella, Graybar’s chairman, president and chief executive officer.

STAR Centers are part of Graybar’s unified service platform, which integrates local, regional, and national distribution centers to deliver exceptional customer service. Graybar’s first STAR Centers will be in Reno, Dallas, and Atlanta with a combined 500,000 square feet. The company plans to open additional STAR centers and expand in several cities over the next few quarters, bringing its total facility footprint to more than 16 million square feet.

Mazzarella added, “As we transform our business for the future, we are reimagining what’s possible across our nationwide footprint. The STAR Center program is one example of Graybar’s investments in leading-edge technology and adaptable solutions to support our customers’ growth. We remain focused on broadening our reach, expanding our capabilities and transforming our logistics network to create an unparalleled customer experience.”
