This addition streamlines procurement and shortens timelines for schools, higher education, libraries, public sector entities, and nonprofits seeking affordable, reliable broadband

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Mission Telecom, a nonprofit telecommunications provider and grantmaker dedicated to expanding digital equity, today announced it has joined the TIPS (The Interlocal Purchasing System) as an approved vendor, streamlining how schools, higher education institutions, libraries, public sector entities, and nonprofits buy affordable internet service.

Schools, libraries, and other public entities are typically required to run a formal, multi-step bidding process before purchasing new services – a process that can take months in districts with limited administrative staff. As an approved vendor on a TIPS procurement contract, Mission Telecom has already been vetted through this competitive process, giving institutions a direct path to purchase its discounted wireless broadband and devices without running a bid of their own. For under-resourced communities, this can significantly shorten the time it takes to get connected.

“Every day an organization spends navigating a lengthy procurement process is a day students, patrons, and communities go without the connectivity they need,” said Mark Colwell, Executive Director of Mission Telecom. “By joining the TIPS vendor list, we’re making it easier for schools, libraries, and other public entities nationwide to get affordable, reliable internet where it’s needed most.”

Mission Telecom’s wireless broadband solutions deliver affordable internet connectivity and devices to schools, libraries, and nonprofits, with special pricing available on plans below market rates. Plans are designed to fit a range of community needs, from predictable data allocations to unlimited connectivity, and include dedicated account management, no red tape, and no activation fees.

As an approved vendor on TIPS, Mission Telecom is committed to providing organizations with a straightforward, affordable path to reliable connectivity, helping close the digital divide for students, educators, and staff.

Schools, higher education institutions, libraries, public sector entities, and nonprofits interested in purchasing Mission Telecom services through TIPS can learn more at Mission Telecom – TIPS Vendor Profile | TIPS-USA.
