BERLIN and NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — QIVIKA, a consumer technology company developing smartphone-based optical imaging solutions, today announced that its QIVIKA Smart Scope is set to launch on Kickstarter on September 15, 2026, bringing a portable optical system designed to help smartphone users observe and capture distant subjects.

Following its debut at IFA 2026 in Berlin, QIVIKA is bringing its Smart Scope to Kickstarter as the company works to make long-range observation more accessible to smartphone users. The campaign is scheduled to begin on September 15, 2026.

QIVIKA: Turn Your Phone Into a Smart Scope

A Smarter Exploration Experience

See → Capture → Recognize → Remember → Share

QIVIKA brings optics and software together to support the full journey from discovering a distant subject to capturing, identifying, recording and sharing it.

Key Product Highlights:

  • Professional long-range optics in a compact form

24× optical magnification, up to 3000mm equivalent focal length, ED glass and multi-coated optics bring powerful reach into a portable design.

  • Built for both day and night exploration

From birding and wildlife observation to lunar viewing and stargazing, QIVIKA is designed for a wide range of outdoor exploration scenarios.

  • Smart guidance and discovery

The app adds AR sky guidance, 10,000+ bird species identification, personal observation records and community discovery.

  • Lightweight with two ways to explore

At approximately 300g, QIVIKA supports both handheld and tripod modes, giving users the flexibility to capture spontaneous moments or settle in for longer observation sessions.

Designed as a smartphone-connected optical device, QIVIKA combines a precision periscope optical system with a dedicated mobile application. The system provides up to 24× optical magnification and up to 3000mm equivalent focal length, allowing users to explore subjects that are difficult to capture with conventional smartphone cameras, from the Moon and stars to distant birds and wildlife.

Unlike digital zoom, which enlarges an image through software, QIVIKA uses a dedicated optical path to bring distant subjects closer before the image reaches the smartphone camera. The optical system incorporates multi-coated optics and ED glass to support image clarity and contrast.

The device weighs approximately 300 grams and can be used in different configurations for observation and capture. It can be operated handheld for more mobile use or mounted on a tripod for longer observation sessions.

QIVIKA also combines its optical hardware with software features designed to guide users through different observation scenarios. The mobile application includes tools for exploring the night sky, with on-screen guidance designed to help users locate and align with celestial targets. For daytime observation, the system is also designed to support birdwatching, including AI-assisted bird identification and tools for recording observations.

The product experience is built around a cycle of observing, capturing, identifying, remembering and exploring. Rather than positioning the Smart Scope solely as an astronomy device, QIVIKA is developing it for a broader range of outdoor observation activities, including stargazing, lunar observation, birdwatching and long-distance photography.

QIVIKA’s IFA 2026 debut has already drawn attention from technology media. Frandroid reported on the company’s smartphone-connected optical system after experiencing the product at IFA 2026, highlighting its long-range optical approach and dedicated application for sky and bird observation. Yanko Design also featured QIVIKA in its IFA 2026 technology roundup, highlighting the product’s portable optical architecture, smartphone integration and AI-assisted observation features.

The QIVIKA Kickstarter campaign will officially open on September 15, 2026. For more information about QIVIKA and the Kickstarter campaign, visit: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/qivika/turn-your-phone-into-a-smart-scope
