Swipe Savvy Acquires GiftAMeal to Expand Purpose-Driven Engagement for Restaurants

ORLANDO, Fla., April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Swipe Savvy, a customer engagement and rewards platform, today announced the acquisition of GiftAMeal, the restaurant marketing platform that turns guest photos into meals for local food banks.

The GiftAMeal experience is simple for both guests and restaurants. Diners scan a QR code, snap a photo to trigger a meal donation, and can then share on social media to provide additional meals. No app download is required, and the process takes just seconds. For restaurant staff, there is no added effort, making it a seamless addition to existing operations. After the acquisition, GiftAMeal will continue operating as normal for current restaurant partners, with no interruption to service or changes required.

Each “meal” donated through GiftAMeal represents a monetary contribution that helps food banks distribute 1.2 pounds of groceries to families in need.

To date, GiftAMeal has partnered with more than 1,200 restaurant locations across 46 states, helping provide nearly 3 million meals through 185 local food banks. Participating restaurants range from independent operators to national brands, including Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, Snarf’s Sandwiches, and The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, along with franchise locations of nationally recognized brands like Chick-fil-A, Häagen-Dazs Shops, and Scooter’s Coffee.

The acquisition brings together two companies focused on helping businesses build stronger customer relationships while driving measurable results. By combining Swipe Savvy’s engagement and loyalty tools with GiftAMeal’s built-in social impact experience, brands will be able to create deeper connections with guests through shared purpose.

Beyond its social impact, GiftAMeal has also demonstrated strong business results for restaurant partners. On average, guests who use GiftAMeal visit 39% more often, spend 20% more per order, and tip 32% more per visit. Because the program is funded by the restaurant and is free for the guest, it creates a feel-good experience that guests associate directly with the brand, driving stronger loyalty while encouraging guests to share their experience on social media and organically promote the restaurant.
