Plans October 1 Launch to Consumers
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — U-wifi, a next-generation 5G home and business internet provider delivering fast, reliable whole-home Wi-Fi announced today a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement with T-Mobile to power its nationwide program focused on addressing the growing internet affordability crisis following the expiration of the FCC Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
The ACP previously provided 23 million eligible households with a $30 monthly internet subsidy, helping families stay connected to work, education, healthcare, and essential services. The program’s expiration has widened the digital divide, particularly in economically disadvantaged communities.
U-wifi’s patent-pending technology is designed to deliver affordable, accessible, and flexible wireless broadband solutions on T-Mobile’s network to underserved communities, low-income households, students, seniors, veterans, and families impacted by the end of ACP benefits.
The program will combine T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G wireless network with U-wifi’s innovative FreeU™ ad-supported technology platform to provide high quality, affordability-focused connectivity solutions and monthly service discounts through voluntary subscriber engagement. U-wifi plans to introduce new low-cost (and potentially free) internet options to help reconnect households most impacted by the expiration of ACP benefits.
