XKL’s Fiber Patch Panel Enhances Network Performance & Organization

REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — XKL, a leading optical network solutions provider, announces the release of its innovative Patch Panel. XKL’s Patch Panel was directly inspired by feedback from on-site deployments with customers. The Patch Panel eliminates the need for excessive breakout cables with simple MPO-to-MPO (Multi-fiber Push On) connections between equipment, enabling organized point-to-point LC connections from the panel itself.

Backed by its signature consultative approach, XKL’s product and engineering teams, with 30+ years of experience, drive the philosophy of creating solutions that were previously unmet or unavailable in the market.

For field technicians and engineers, XKL’s new patch panel reduces the time needed to install, maintain, or reconfigure cabling. Key features include:

  • Front-facing MPO connectors for easy access.
  • Large and clear labeling to prevent user errors.
  • Quick-release cassettes for easy changes with no impact to customer traffic.
  • Small footprint 1U compact design, supporting multiple cassettes.
  • Compatible with any vendor equipment.

For network operators, managing cables efficiently while minimizing risk is a top priority. XKL’s design addresses these challenges by bringing MPO ports to the front of each cassette, providing clear visual access and a fixed termination point.

“Our customers told us that patch panels with rear-facing MPOs and poorly labeled LC ports were frustrating to work with, but they didn’t see any alternatives on the market. That’s when we knew we could make a difference,” said Darren Yuet, Marketing Manager. “At scale, a single messy patch panel can mean hours of wasted time during maintenance windows. Our Patch Panel requires no training. Its straightforward design is a reflection of our commitment to a risk-free and easy experience for our customers.”

The patch panel seamlessly integrates with any networking hardware and supports 8MPO to 4 x LC Duplex or 24MPO to 12 x LC Duplex configurations. Its flexible design also supports growing and evolving network needs, all without data rate restrictions.

XKL’s Patch Panel is currently available for order. If you are interested in placing an order or learning more about the product, please visit: www.xkl.com/patch-panel.

XKL will attend NANOG 93 in Atlanta, Georgia, from February 3-5. To request an onsite meeting, contact [email protected].
