‘Wait until you get your hands on Claudeforce,’ Salesforce CEO and co-founder Marc Benioff said.

Salesforce solution providers have much to contemplate around opportunities in new parts of the cloud company’s product portfolio, the best pricing models for their AI customers, and the durability of software-as-a-service in the AI age now that the vendor’s Dreamforce 2026 event is in the history books.

In a brief interview with CRN during Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce CEO and co-founder Marc Benioff (pictured) said the vendor’s investments in AI innovation and deepening partnership with Claude developer Anthropic should translate into wins for its service partners.

“It’s going to be an incredible opportunity for them,” Benioff said. “Wait until you get your hands on Claudeforce. It’s going to be awesome.”

Sean Catlin, executive vice president and global head of strategy at Québec-based Salesforce solution provider OSF Digital, told CRN in an interview that the company has been seeing demand for its proof of value (POV) applied AI use case identification capabilities, which helps customers identify the areas of their business that are most likely to deliver returns on AI investments.

“You have to get the customer to be comfortable with being uncomfortable first,” Catlin said.

Salesforce has been leveraging AI to increase its technology’s usability in new categories, going beyond front office use to middle and back office and procurement, he said.

For one customer, for example, OSF worked on vendor onboarding and source-to-pay processes. OSF had a working prototype by the end of a one-day workshop for the customer.

“We were drawing the process and building it in the system seamlessly, real time,” he said. “And at the end of that day, we had a working prototype of real technology working in a frontier-lab way. And the next day we played it back to the leadership team and said, ‘Look, this is how we change supplier onboarding from 38 days to 18 in these areas and in this way.’”

Here are other big takeaways for solution providers coming out of Salesforce Dreamforce 2026.

Salesforce Bets Big On Headless Architecture, AI Flexibility

One of the biggest themes of Dreamforce 2026 was Salesforce leaders’ confidence in the value of their platform extending beyond the interaction layer for company data.

The Salesforce platform can bring users complete end-to-end experiences, but it also provides a needed enterprise AI harness with governance and control should users choose to use third-party AI interfaces, company executives asserted throughout the week.

At the product innovation level, Salesforce reflected this commitment to headless architecture with AIforce, a new live interface layer that connects enterprise data and workflows to AI tools, plus expanded partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Nvidia and other leading AI firms.

The AIforce live interface layer can leverage data, workflows, business logic, semantics, permissions, security, governance and other enterprise knowledge stored in Salesforce with any AI interface and agentic productivity tool.

Dreamforce 2026’s programming reinforced Salesforce’s neutral model stance and role as an interaction layer to models beyond its own, with CEO and co-founder Marc Benioff sharing speaking time with Anthropic’s Dario Amodei and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang during his keynote and, later, sharing a stage with OpenAI’s Sam Altman.

Although Salesforce has been highly promoting its “Claudeforce” collaboration with Anthropic, Altman said it “would be great” to eventually render interfaces between Salesforce and OpenAI’s ChatGPT during his shared stage time with Benioff.

Debate continues on whether headless architecture is the right choice by Salesforce, according to a KeyBanc report released during Dreamforce 2026. While Salesforce following customer preferences is a positive, the investment firm questioned who ultimately makes more money in the Claudeforce deal, Salesforce or Anthropic.

Claudeforce—Salesforce embedded into Claude through a prebuilt Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and 37 sales skills—already has 40 customers in private pilot, with up to 1,000 in open beta now, according to TD Cowen. The product saves administrators time from needing to develop MCP servers for each user.

AIforce allows users to stay in Anthropic Claude, Salesforce-owned Slack and other productivity applications without opening a dashboard while grounding questions in Salesforce data and business logic. Users can also update records and trigger workflows, according to the vendor. Agents can read across hundreds of records at once and pull in connected systems, reason and take action.

The flexibility extends new opportunities to Salesforce solution providers as well, Tyler Carlson, Salesforce’s senior vice president and head of product for AgentExchange and partner experience, told CRN in an interview during Dreamforce 2026.

“You can build your cockpit or your dashboard or your app on top of Salesforce data. And then you can take that and publish it back to Salesforce as the runtime for the React app that you built on the platform [for example],” Carlson said. “Then all of the SI [systems integrator] partners can go and do that kind of custom work and implementations for all their customers.”

Although Salesforce has faced concerns from industry watchers around its exposure to less need for software-as-a-service licenses if AI chatbots are the ones accessing these SaaS tools—the “SaaSpocalypse,” as it has been called—AI interfaces instead offer users new ways to unlock intelligence from data trapped in systems of record, TD Cowen said in a report Thursday.

Embracing greater flexibility at the product level could help net account expansion in the future and encourage future customer upgrades, Morgan Stanley said in a report Thursday.

AI Pricing Variety Could Drive Salesforce Growth

Just as Salesforce is investing in greater flexibility at the user interface layer, the company is still following a strategy built around multiple AI monetization models with customers, similar to its enterprise applications rival Microsoft.

Debate remains, however, on the durability of Salesforce’s growth beyond this fiscal year, Morgan Stanley said in its report. Salesforce decoupling its software from the interaction layer risks pushing its products into lower-value, back-end positioning and runs the risk of consumption revenue failing to replace lost seat licenses.

Improving context engineering with AI chatbots could also remove Salesforce’s closed metadata advantage, according to Morgan Stanley.

The investment firm said Salesforce leaders need to provide stronger evidence of growth inflection in the AI era. Salesforce partners have reported more Agentforce deployments moving beyond experimentation, but only in the high single-digit percent of customers actively scaled, according to Morgan Stanley. Scaled deployments are modest but improving year on year as functionality expands from single-task automation to multi-step orchestration.

Customers have options for seat-based subscriptions, pay-as-you-go consumption, outcome-based pricing, flex credits, Salesforce commits, fixed-price multi-year Agentic Enterprise License Agreements (AELAs)—all of which are designed for customers at different stages of AI adoption, according to the TD Cowen report.

AI demand could lead to an upgrading cycle for Salesforce—and its ecosystem—by users looking to higher-priced products to better leverage AI capabilities. Product innovations such as the Agent Fabric agent and cost manager could also drive renewed interest in Salesforce’s MuleSoft integration platform, according to TD Cowen.

New AI innovation in Slack has increased demand for the collaboration platform. Slack revenue has more than doubled since its 2021 acquisition by Salesforce, and Slackbot usage more than doubled quarter on quarter, according to the investment firm.

And Salesforce has other user interfaces beyond Slack, with its Agentforce Coworker product reaching 100,000 activated users in its first 35 days of availability, according to TD Cowen.

Slack revenue should reach about $3.5 billion in fiscal year 2027 and should grow low double digits next year, KeyBanc said in a report Wednesday. The investment firm also showed interest in the recent Salesforce acquisition of Fin, whose $1 per outcome pricing could prove more affordable than the $2 per conversation model Salesforce rolled out for Agentforce a year ago.

In the lead up to Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce released new product bundles including a $550 per user, per month Max edition, which could bring about three times uplift to user spending, according to TD Cowen. Max comes with 2.75 million flex credits and includes Salesforce in Claude and Agentforce Coworker.

The mix of Salesforce premium licenses including Max, Agentforce 1 Edition (A1E) and Einstein 1 Edition (E1E) has increased from 1 percent of annual recurring revenue (ARR) in the first quarter of Salesforce’s 2025 fiscal year to about 5 percent in the second quarter of Salesforce’s 2027 fiscal year.

That represents more than $1 billion in incremental revenue, and every percent of the base moved to a higher tier is another $100 million in incremental revenue. Upgrades have produced a 60 percent to 80 percent uplift and account for about 1.4 times the account-level ARR expansion, according to TD Cowen. And seven of Salesforce’s 10 largest deals in the fiscal second quarter came from AELAs.

As part of Salesforce’s simpler product packaging for users, the vendor offers a Core edition with 500,000 flex credits costing $195 per user, per month. An Advanced edition gives 1 million credits for $395. Both include Agentforce, Slackbot, Sales, Service and Industry clouds. Existing A1E customers can upgrade to Max at no additional cost. And legacy edition pricing hasn’t changed for users, according to TD Cowen.

During Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce executives reiterated their goal of $63 billion or more in revenue in the 2030 fiscal year. That would mean an additional point of growth acceleration per year over the next three years, from about 8 percent to 12 percent growth, according to TD Cowen.

High-teens backlog growth for Salesforce, plus 10 percent to 12 percent sales capacity growth in key regions, makes the goal look attainable, according to the investment firm. Salesforce also expects $15 billion in free cash flow this year, providing funds needed for product innovation, go-to-market (GTM) investment, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

AgentExchange Emerges As Bigger Partner Opportunity

Tyler Carlson, Salesforce’s senior vice president and head of product for AgentExchange and partner experience, told CRN in an interview during Dreamforce 2026 that the vendor has improved the experience for consulting partners.

That includes the ability for consultancies to list services for purchase and applications and other intellectual property (IP) the partner has built in one container.

The move reflects an ongoing convergence among partners in the AI era as they combine services and intellectual property to differentiate themselves in the channel, Carlson said.

“We are starting to see some of our SIs go in that direction—build out accelerators, packaged IP, AgentExchange apps,” he said. The marketplace has also added more partner program competencies.

In October, Salesforce plans to allow solution providers to sell services and core products that don’t run on Salesforce through the marketplace, Carlson said. The move adds flexibility beyond the recently introduced option for partners to list custom private offers.

Other features and capabilities on the AgentExchange roadmap for 2027 include a skills marketplace for ISVs, agentic search and comparisons, a flex credits purchasing option, public offers and multi-party transactions.

Salesforce solution providers should invest in their marketplace presence in part because the vendor’s internal sellers can use the marketplace to bring in appropriate solution providers for their customers, Carlson said. The marketplace also allows solution providers to leverage customers’ pre-buy usage and usage commitments to speed up deals.

Salesforce’s marketplace can help solution providers “with procurement friction, getting in the door—especially if you’re a smaller consultant,” Carlson said. “Leveraging the Salesforce relationship with the customer and their awareness of us and our marketplace helps them land a customer they maybe wouldn’t have landed.”

Why Salesforce Says AI Won’t Trigger A SaaS Collapse

Even when Salesforce doesn’t win at the user interface level with its Slack, Lightning and other UI products, the vendor’s software still serves an important role for agent-ified enterprises, Benioff said during his Dreamforce 2026 keynote address.

“Models alone cannot run the enterprise,” Benioff said. “Models alone are not going to show us what’s possible. Models also are very probabilistic. … They kind of know what’s going on. But they’re not grounded in a single set of truth like your traditional Salesforce apps.”

Benioff also said during the keynote that “we realize that SaaSpocalypse was not about the end of software, but it may be about the end of software that makes humans do all the work.”

Other AI industry executives Benioff shared the stage with appeared to agree with the importance of SaaS.

Anthropic’s Amodei said that one of his executives “talks to Claude using Salesforce’s data about, what are the 10 biggest deals we’re doing this week? What are the 10 deals we’re most likely to lose? What are the themes in those deals? How do we win those deals? Just making use of all the information fluently with Claude. And it’s really incredible.”

Nvidia’s Huang said, “I was the first CEO to come out, not in the software industry, to say the end of software is nonsense. This is going to be a layer on top of software. … This new layer on top of software is going to be agentic. It’s going to make you use the software so much better.”

Signals that the AI era means more business for Salesforce include its top 100 customers by agentic work units (AWUs)—a Salesforce measure of completed work by AI agents instead of simply tokens consumed—generating more than double the ARR expansion since Agentforce’s launch 18 months ago, according to TD Cowen.

Salesforce’s net-new annual order value (NNAOV) also signals growing organic revenue growth reacceleration in 2027 and beyond, with an expected $1.1 trillion of incremental AI software spending projected from 2025 to 2030. Salesforce’s pipeline is at record levels and growing in the high teens, contract duration is expanding across deal bands, seat count is growing and consumption is inflecting, according to TD Cowen.

Total software spending should roughly double by 2030 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 35 percent in AI software spend and about 3 percent in non-AI software spend, according to the investment firm. AI was in more than 80 percent of Salesforce’s top 100 ARR growth stories, and Salesforce leaders expect to go from a 1.2 times ARR uplift for pre-agentic adoption to up to double the uplift as customers add AI-powered core applications.

Salesforce leadership sees the uplift multiplier reaching three times or four times as customers become wall-to-wall agentic enterprises, according to TD Cowen.

Another signal of the durability of SaaS and Salesforce’s core customer relationship management (CRM) software is that nine of the top AI companies are running on Salesforce, with ARR from that cohort up fivefold year on year, according to a KeyBanc report.

That cohort—perhaps the most likely companies to build their own versions of Salesforce and ditch the vendor—have been expanding within the platform, averaging five clouds per customer, up 1.5 clouds over the last two years. All 10 of those top AI customers also use Slack.

While Salesforce’s classic CRM market isn’t likely to face displacement from AI competitors in the near future, the market looks well penetrated, Bernstein said in a report this month. The investment firm called human capital management (HCM) software more protected against AI upheaval compared to CRM and enterprise resource planning (ERP) the most protected enterprise application market from AI upheaval.

Salesforce Expands Its AI Stack With Koa, Purpose-Built Agents

Salesforce showed that it is still investing in staying competitive at the model layer and with preconfigured agents disclosed during and in the lead up to Dreamforce 2026.

The vendor unveiled its Koa CRM reasoning model built on the Nvidia Nemotron AI model family. Koa promises fewer errors than leading frontier models and gives Salesforce control over model weights, with inference running in Salesforce’s infrastructure, according to TD Cowen. Koa should become generally available in winter.

Salesforce also showcased some of its preconfigured agents on the show floor. That includes Casey for customer service issues across voice and digital channels and Paige for IT, human resources and other employee requests.

Its Carter agent is for product discovery, comparisons and in-chat checkout. Hunter can research prospects and execute outbound sales efforts over extended periods of time. And Marshall orchestrates supply chain and back-office processes with deterministic execution and audit trails while Piper engages and qualifies inbound leads across websites and inboxes.

All the agents are generally available except for Hunter, which is in pilot with general availability expected in November, according to TD Cowen.
